Match Play event  -  Four Ball results:

Highlights:  In premiere showcase event, the much anticipated showdown match between two talented, sage and determined teams ended in a stalemate.  The Asian Mafia and B.G.A. (bogey golfers association) battled to an “ALL SQUARE” tie with each side winning a round and one tie for a 1-1-1 finish. Quite a bit of luster was taken off of this battle royale when Mafia stalwart, Big John Chung was placed on the sick roll list at last minute. Much trash talking preceded this titan struggle which crys out for a rematch some day.  In opening salvo,  Frank”Spanky” Mejia & Jimmy Frenette defeated Hernani and Ernie Apaga 2 and 1.  The BGA’ers took the lead with  a birdie on # 2, barely maintained that edge with a birdie-push on #6 and finally put matters totally dormie with a par on #8.  The Asian Mafia repaid this dubious favor by taking the second round 2 and 1.  Michael Jones and Paradise Mike took out Charlie D. and Fargo Frank with a closely contested match up to the end. The final match ended with the BGA up by one going into the final hole, but missing a 359 degree all around the hole lip-out putt and settling for an “All Square”- tie.  Keo K and Don “old blues eye”  Flynn withstood the heavy pressure from Unkle Matt and  Bruno Brunner to go all square.

In Old School Battle Royale:  Gordon and Joe Sepp punk Blaine Baby and LFL Terry -  3 and 1

Terry Parson & Gilly Brown edge out Ready Freddie and Kevin – 1 UP

In “Battle for Grill bragging-rights”,  Jerry Wilson and Shelton battle Bobby Daly & Jimmy Sandbag to ALL SQUARE – tie.  Go figure, rematch pending.

Murphy and Johnnie T bitch slap Heron & Kalman – 4 and 3
